Dear clients certified under ISO 37001:2016

CMSM LLC Certification Body announces that in February 2025, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the new version ISO 37001:2025 “Anti-bribery management systems — Requirements with guidance for use”, replacing ISO 37001:2016.

In accordance with the mandatory document IAF MD 30:2025 “Transition Requirements for ISO 37001:2025”, the Certification Body must complete the transition of all currently certified clients to the new version ISO 37001:2025 by 28 February 2027 (two years after the publication date of the standard).

The standard establishes requirements and provides guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining, reviewing and improving an anti-bribery management system. ISO 37001:2025 applies exclusively to bribery. By implementing an anti-bribery management system, organizations can reduce the risks and losses associated with bribery and improve their market reputation.

Key differences between ISO 37001:2016 and ISO 37001:2025:

• Subclauses on climate change have been added and the importance of compliance culture has been emphasized.
• Conflicts of interest have been addressed.
• The concept of the anti-bribery compliance function has been clarified.
• Wording has been harmonized with other standards where appropriate.
• An updated harmonized structure has been introduced.

Actions by CMSM LLC Certification Body for the transition to ISO 37001:2025:

The review of changes made to the certified client’s documentation for compliance with the new ISO 37001:2025 requirements will be carried out during surveillance audits in accordance with the schedule established for each client.

Initial and recertification under ISO 37001:2025 will be conducted no later than 31 August 2026.
